Manthey Racing, which races Porsche sports cars and then uses the experience gained in competition to refine the brand’s road cars, has introduced a tuning kit for the new Porsche 718 GT4 RS. Without touching the power plant, only by improving the suspension, brakes and aerodynamics of the coupe, the specialists of the German tuning studio managed to make the sports car even faster on the race track. But it will be very expensive.

The main changes affected aerodynamics. The car received a developed splitter, canard wings on the front bumper, the bottom configuration changed, “gills” appeared in the front wings, a diffuser made of carbon fiber became more efficient, the rear wing became wider, its end plates were larger, a Gurney flap appeared and the angle changed attacks.

European sales of the Porsche 718 had to be completed ahead of schedule

In combination with carbon fiber “caps” on the rear wheels, downforce has increased. In addition to aerodynamic updates, the Manthey Racing Kit includes stiffer suspension springs, a carbon fiber engine cover, and an upgraded brake system with stainless steel lines and new pads.

The 500-horsepower 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-6 engine remains standard, but the upgrades listed above are enough to ensure that in the hands of German racer Jörg Bergmeister the sports car was six seconds faster on the Nordschleife than a standard coupe. Manthey Racing’s package costs $53,946 plus installation, or another $5,890 more with the rear wing. At the same time, the new Porsche 718 Cayman costs almost the same – $68,300.
