The lower house has adopted in the first reading a bill on the deprivation of driving licenses for up to one and a half years for driving a car with hidden state registration plates. And this concerns driving: this will not affect parked cars, emphasized deputy Yaroslav Nilov, who took part in the discussion of the bill, in a conversation with TASS.

When the car is parked, the numbers can be under the windshield, anywhere else, or “not anywhere at all,” Nilov said. Only driving a car with hidden numbers will be punished.

The draft law developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs proposes to single out liability for such a violation as a separate offence. The punishment is deprivation of rights for a period of one to one and a half years with confiscation of the device. They also want to increase the term of deprivation to one and a half years for repeated driving of a car without any license plates at all.
