A presentation of a locally upgraded third-generation model took place in Thailand. The main modification is the transition to a 2.4-liter 4N16 turbodiesel from the new Mitsubishi L200. However, having agreed to a new engine, you will have to be content with the “old” gearbox: the 8-speed automatic has been replaced by a 6-speed! Most trim levels remain with rear-wheel drive.
Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is in no hurry to move into a new generation following the L200 truck: the premiere has been postponed to 2025. However, the SUV is gradually being unified with the pickup truck: units, a fashionable three-spoke steering wheel, an updated virtual dashboard, as well as media system software are borrowed from the original – a wireless connection with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto has appeared.

Previously unseen options include a 12.1-inch diagonal cinema screen for rear passengers, dark red leather interior trim, and an expanded set of active safety assistants. Permanent all-wheel drive Super Select II in Thailand is available only on the top version, the rest of the SUVs have a rear driven axle. After the upgrade, the ground clearance is increased by half a centimeter (up to 222 millimeters), but the main pair is shortened to 4.09:1 – this is the price for sharing the same hardware with the L200.
Externally, the SUV has changed little: the new product features a different radiator grille, wheels and anti-chrome. Prices range from 1.39 to 1.69 million baht ($38,000 to $46,000). The left-hand drive Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will be similarly updated, and the debut of the new generation of SUV will take place only in a year.
