Toyota will send half a million cars with problem brakes for repair

The largest Japanese automobile concern Toyota Motor has decided to hold a service campaign that will affect about 580 thousand vehicles. The Japanese portal NHK writes about this. A dangerous manufacturing defect was discovered on the cars, which could lead to brake failure and, as a result, to a traffic accident.

In 580,000 vehicles, the pedal bolts may not have been tightened sufficiently. The result could be brake failure, NHK reports. However, there have not yet been any reports of incidents or casualties due to the discovered manufacturing defect.

Models of cars with problematic pedal bolts and their production years have not yet been published. It is known that so far we are talking only about cars sold on the domestic market.

Over the past six months, Toyota has issued multiple recalls due to serious problems. For example, in July, Tundra and Sequoia pickups of the 2023 model year, whose spare tire could fly off, were affected by the action. In the same month, more than 100 thousand Toyota and Lexus worldwide were sent for service because they received poorly welded cables.

The August campaign affected 168,000 newly built Tundra pickups in the United States, with a fire risk reported due to a misaligned fuel line.
