In 2022, the premiere of the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 S 4Matic+ sedan took place, which lost its 510-horsepower 4.0-liter turbo V8 engine in favor of a hybrid power plant with a capacity of 680 horsepower and 1020 Nm of torque based on a 2.0-liter gasoline unit with a capacity of 476 horsepower. The authors of the YouTube channel Carwow arranged a straight race, in which the rival of the new product was the latest Mercedes-AMG C 63 with a V8.
The previous generation sedan has a canonical for AMG models 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 with 510 horsepower and 700 Nm under the hood. The engine is combined with a 7-speed automatic transmission, and the drive of such C 63 is rear. The “old” Mercedes-AMG weighs 1750 kilograms.
The new car is predictably heavier — 2190 kilograms — and not only due to the all-wheel drive, but also hybrid units. The power plant develops 680 “horses” and 1020 Newton meters, which are transmitted to the wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission.
