Two very unusual British cars battle it out in an extraordinary drag duel

The American Hoonigan team, which in addition to preparing cars for racing also runs its own blog, presented a new episode of its This vs. That project. Representatives of the British auto industry took part in the new race, and quite rare ones at that – the unusual Nash Metropolitan is opposed by the Vauxhall Nova, and the duelists are seriously tuned for straight-line racing. So much so that the dragsters resemble their ancestors only visually and in names.

The 1959 Metropolitan coupe weighs less than a ton under the hood and has a 680-horsepower 8.1-liter naturally aspirated V8, which is combined with a 3-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

The 1989 Nova weighs about 750 kilograms, which accounts for 700 horsepower, developed by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive.
