The ACS coupe is a joint project between Californian Singer Vehicle Design and British Tuthill Porsche. The SUV is based on a reinforced Porsche 964 chassis and is equipped with a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine. In addition, it has long-travel dual shock absorbers, a carbon fiber body, aluminum underbody protection, and a specially developed all-wheel drive with three differentials.

The off-road Porsche 911 will not surprise anyone today. There is plenty to choose from: there is a factory 911 Dakar, and a bunch of third-party projects of varying degrees of development. For example, Marc Philipp Gemballa Marsien, equipped with a RUF engine. At the other extreme are racing machines like the Singer All-Terrain Competition Study (ACS). This is exactly the car that went on sale at London dealer Joe Macari. How much it costs is unknown, but we remember that “Zingers” on the secondary market are valued at seven-figure sums.

The coupe was built according to an individual order from a long-time client of the company. Deep at the core is a Porsche 964 from 1990. The chassis was strengthened, a safety cage was added, long-stroke double shock absorbers with five operating modes and quick-release carbon fiber body panels were added. The bottom was covered with five-millimeter aluminum plates – and in this configuration the car can be exhibited at the Baja 1000 and Dakar even tomorrow. By the way, the fine-tuning of the ACS was carried out by the British workshop Tuthill Porsche, which has extensive experience in participating in rally raids.

The power to the wheels comes through a five-speed sequential gearbox with the ability to control the lever and steering wheel paddles, and you can switch to higher gear without squeezing the clutch. The Singer ACS equipment also includes a GPS tracker, a larger fuel tank, compartments for two full-size spare tires and a water supply system for the driver and co-driver.
