Updated frame pickup truck Changan Hunter: “wild” design and hybrid

Photos of the modernized Changan Lantop (known in Russia under the name Hunter Plus) appeared in the open database of the PRC certification authorities. The pickup truck will be updated globally: from the front, the model will look like the Uni family, and buyers will also have the opportunity to order a hybrid version. As before, the truck will be offered with a standard (3.18 meters) or long (3.43 meters) wheelbase.

Changan Hunter Plus has been on sale in Russia for only four months, but in China the original model debuted in 2019, so the restyling is timely. The design changes are radical: now the truck will have a frameless radiator grille, the headlights are skillfully camouflaged, and the rear-view mirror housings have also changed.

It is known that the new product will be offered with a three-engine hybrid power plant based on a gasoline 2.0-liter turbo-four. Electric motors will be placed at the front (95 horsepower) and rear (177 horsepower), and they will be powered by a lithium iron phosphate battery. There is no information about the transmission: perhaps Changan will abandon mechanical all-wheel drive and downshift.

The timing of the premiere of the updated Changan pickup truck is unknown, but usually about a month passes from the moment of the leak of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to the premiere. In Russia, prices for the petrol Hunter Plus start at 3.43 million rubles: our model is sold only with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, a BorgWarner transfer case and all-wheel drive.
