Firstly, a ban on the use of winter tires in summer will come into effect. Secondly, the procedure for obtaining a driver’s license and the requirements for opening certain categories will change. Thirdly, technical inspection becomes mandatory. But only for cars older than four years that are registered with the traffic police, change ownership or design.
From June 1, 2024, a number of new rules and requirements that directly affect motorists will come into force. For example, they will be fined for using studded tires. The ban will be in effect for three months – until September 1. The amount of the fine, according to the first part of Article 12.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, will be 500 rubles. Drivers, according to the instructions of the traffic police, will be released with a warning.
In addition, foreign rights for foreigners and Russian citizens entering Russia will only be valid for a year. During this time, you must obtain a Russian ID, otherwise you will have to pay 15 thousand rubles.
Those who have lost their license for drunk driving are prohibited from taking the test for a year. Citizens of the Russian Federation who evade military service will also not be able to obtain rights. The rules for opening categories are being tightened: for example, category D (bus) cannot be obtained if you have no experience driving a car or truck.
