Cars from China continue to gain a foothold in the Russian market: their share increased from nine percent in February 2022 to about 60 percent in May 2024. The Fit Service network of car services studied about 24 thousand visits of “Chinese” cars during 2023 and 2024 and compiled a rating of the most inexpensive cars to repair and maintain. It also became known which car owners visit the service more often.
The most economical brand in January-May was Haval. The average bill at a car service is 6,808 rubles. Chery is in second place with 6,948 rubles, and Geely is in third with 7,089. It is noted that over the year, the indicator has significantly decreased for Haval, but for the other two brands it has remained at about the same level.
The receipts for Haval, Chery and Geely are approximately the same, which is explained by their popularity in the market and the fact that these are mostly new cars. They are followed in the ranking by Lifan with an amount of 9,054 rubles (plus 30 percent for the year), and Great Wall closes the top five with an amount of 15,751 rubles (plus 73 percent). Their maintenance is more expensive, since the cars are often older.

As for the frequency of visits to the service, Chery Tiggo (without specification) is the leader here. In second place is Lifan X60, in third place is Haval F7. The fourth and fifth places are occupied by the Geely Emgrand EC7 and Geely Coolray, and the latter began to be taken for service twice as often. The Haval F7 also has a big increase – by 87 percent.
The explanation is simple: there are more Chinese cars on the roads, which means they stop by for service more often.
Previously, experts named cars from China, the repair of which, on the contrary, will be very expensive. In particular, the average bill for FAW repairs is about 200 thousand rubles, and the maximum bill in 2024 is more than 530 thousand rubles. However, this is rather an exception, experts say, since most of the “Chinese” are inexpensive to maintain.
