Rimac has introduced its own robotic taxi called Verne: this is in honor of Jules Verne, who wrote science fiction novels. After all, Rimac Verne robots are the personification of what was science fiction just a few years ago.

Firstly, the Rimac Verne robotaxi has no steering wheel at all. Accordingly, fully autonomous control is required, which was helped by specialists from MobilEye, an Israeli company that develops various sensors and autonomous control systems. Secondly, the robotoxy also does not have some of the usual automotive elements – for example, windshield wipers (after all, the sensors do not require this). And this, accordingly, somewhat changed the usual body design, especially in the front part.

Thirdly, the Rimac Verne robotoxy is designed as a 2-seater hatchback coupe, with two sliding doors for access to the interior and a separate trunk lid. Inside, passengers will find a pair of folding seats and a giant 43-inch display. The robotoxy is controlled by voice commands, and the preliminary call and settings are made through an application on a smartphone.

Finally, fourth: although there are no exact technical characteristics yet, there is already a plan for its use. Thus, Rimac Verne has already been agreed to begin test operation in the city of Zagreb (Croatia, where the Rimac company originates) starting in 2026. Further, the territory of use of robotaxi should expand to 11 cities in Germany, Great Britain, and the countries of the Middle East.
