The sub-brand of the Geely holding announced the start of assembly of right-hand drive X SUVs and 009 minivans. Priority markets are Australia, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. Zeekr showrooms will open in the capitals of these countries in the near future, with first sales scheduled for the third quarter of 2024. Right-hand drive Zeekr will differ from left-hand drive counterparts only in color scheme and options.

Currently, Zeekr is officially sold in 25 countries, but by the end of the year, representative offices will open in another 25 countries, that is, they will learn about Chinese electric cars in Europe, Oceania, Latin America and Southeast Asia. Circulations are growing: in May, Zeekr sold 18.6 thousand electric vehicles, which is 115% more than the same month in 2023.

The Zeekr Mix crossover has been presented: a unique body and a lounge-living room. Two Zeekr electric cars were crashed in crash tests. The Americans called the new Zeekr “the Rolls-Royce of minivans.”

The introduction of right-hand drive Zeekr will allow it to enter important left-hand drive markets, such as offering electric vehicles in Indonesia, the fourth most populous country in the world. Small but rich Hong Kong, Singapore and Macau are next in line. The Zeekr brand is not officially represented in Russia, but this does not prevent it from dominating the electric car market: according to the results of five months of 2024, four thousand Zeekr units were sold in our country!

Currently, Zeekr’s share in the Russian electric vehicle segment is 43.6%, but changes in legislation will make Chinese “battery” models less attractive. At the end of May, Zeekr sales dropped to 397 units, although competitors are still behind: Moskvich sold 125 electric cars, Evolute – 99 cars.
