The Nissan Skyline GT-R is a legend in its own right, and the R34 generation is often called the best generation. Japanese company Built By Legends, known for restomods of the R32 and R33, has unveiled a new project: a completely restored and upgraded R34, equipped with a 650 horsepower (484 kW) MINES engine and a six-speed manual transmission.

The company’s CEO and co-founder Masaharu Kuji says:

“Our goal is to unlock the GT-R’s true potential as a driver’s car. Our new R34 GT-R embodies our relentless pursuit of excellence.”

The powertrain consists of MINE’S MB7 engine mated to a Getrag six-speed manual transmission. The restomod uses all-wheel drive, just like the original. However, it’s not just an R34 engine swap: the process involves a 108-point 3D body alignment.

The team wet-sand blasts the entire car, applies anti-corrosion epoxy and a two-tone paint job of the customer’s choice. They also add 400 spot welds to increase chassis and body rigidity.

Each car gets new suspension parts, new bearings, upgraded AP Racing brakes and carbon fiber body panels to reduce weight. Built By Legends says customers can also request a mix of modern and original parts.

Keep in mind, however, that the $450,000 price tag for a complete build and restoration does not include the donor car itself.
