The Jaecoo brand is positioned in Russia as part of Omoda, and both of these brands are owned by Chery. So far, Jaecoo is represented on our market by the only crossover J7, but it will soon be joined by the J8 – this will happen next year. In addition, the brand has planned to launch hybrid versions of these models for 2024, that is, there will be three new products in total.

The Jaecoo J8 will be available at dealerships in the first quarter of next year. This model is unified with Chery Tiggo 9 and differs from it only in design. The crossover is equipped with two-liter engines of different power (254 or 261 horsepower). Both engines work in conjunction with a seven-speed “robot”; the drive can be front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. In China, such a car can be bought for 152.9 thousand yuan (1.9 million rubles), but in Russia it will cost significantly more.

The company also talked about the J7 and J8 plug-in hybrids with a PHEV prefix with an installation similar to the Chery Fulwin T6. The Jaecoo J7 PHEV is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2024, and the flagship hybrid Jaecoo J8 will appear on the Russian market by the third quarter.

For now, in Russia you can only buy the Jaecoo J7, which costs from 3,339,900 to 3,749,900 rubles. This model is presented with a 1.6-liter turbo engine producing 186 horsepower in conjunction with a robot. You can choose front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

It was previously reported that Jaecoo cars will be sold in 120 showrooms. One hundred of them are joint Omoda + Jaecoo dealerships, the remaining 20 are independent showrooms.
