The Kalashnikov plant, known for its innovations in the field of firearms, made a splash in the motorcycle industry by introducing its creation: the electric retro motorcycle IZH-49 2024. Bringing back a classic name from the past, the manufacturer combines nostalgia with modern technology to give “new life” vintage “bike”.

Originally released in 1951, the IZH-49 holds a special place in motorcycle history, known for its iconic design and reliability. Now Kalashnikov pays tribute to this legendary model by resurrecting it in a modern form. A little over a month ago, he teased the promise of retro motorcycles, hinting at a limited edition. Now the expectation has become a reality when the company introduces the first model of this retro line: IZH-49.

The IZH-49 retains the classic style of its predecessor while incorporating modern features. The most significant update was the electric motor. Despite the modest power of 13.5 horsepower, the engine accelerates the motorcycle to a maximum speed of 95 km/h with a range of one hundred kilometers on a single charge.

The bike has a length of 2090 mm and a wheelbase of 1430 mm. Weighing in at 130kg, it promises agility. As for the cost, details have not yet been announced. Looking to the future, Kalashnikov has ambitious plans to expand its line of retro motorcycles, introducing a range of models that combine timeless design with modern performance (photo: Kalashnikov).
