The updated Aito M5 model was shown at the Beijing Motor Show. Russians are already familiar with its pre-restyling version – the supply of Aito cars to Russia was organized by the former importer of Mercedes-Benz, the MB RUS company. The new product debuted in China in two versions, hybrid and fully electric, sales will begin on May 15. The updated M5 in the hybrid version is equipped with a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine, which is not directly connected to the wheels – it only recharges the battery. The crossover is driven by one or two electric motors (depending on the version); accordingly, the drive can be rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
In the first case, the electric motor mounted on the rear axle develops 272 horsepower, and the battery capacity is 42 kilowatt-hours: this M5 consumes only 2.18 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers, accelerates to “hundreds” in 7.1 seconds, and its the maximum speed is 200 kilometers per hour. The total range is 1,440 kilometers on the CLTC cycle, and the hybrid travels 255 kilometers on pure electricity.

The total output of the two electric motors of the all-wheel drive Aito M5 is 496 horsepower. Acceleration from zero to 100 kilometers per hour takes 4.3 seconds, and the top speed is increased to 210 kilometers per hour. The crossover consumes 2.35 liters per 100 kilometers, travels 230 kilometers on pure electricity, and the total range is 1,275 kilometers (CLTC).

As for the all-electric Aito M5, it will be offered exclusively with a single drive. The electric motor is located in the rear wheel drive and is powered by an 83-kilowatt-hour battery. The power reserve is 602 kilometers on the same CLTC cycle, acceleration to “hundreds” is 7.1 seconds, and the top speed is 200 kilometers per hour.
Prices range from 249.8 thousand to 279.8 thousand yuan, which is equivalent to 3.2-3.6 million rubles. For comparison, in Russia the pre-restyling version of the model costs from five to 6.9 million rubles.
