Its commercial version will be presented before the end of the year, and the new product will act as an electric alternative to fuel-powered five-doors like the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Audi RS 3. The Ocean-M has rear-wheel drive and an aggressive aerodynamic body kit, presumably made of carbon fiber. The parameters of the power plant have not yet been disclosed.

BYD brought to the Beijing Auto Show the five-door Ocean-M, modeled after European hot hatches. The concept not only demonstrates the new corporate identity, but also anticipates the production model, which will hit the local market in the third quarter of this year. Ocean-M has an electric power plant, rear axle drive and an elaborate aerodynamic body kit, for some reason called avant-garde.

Simultaneously with the hatchback, the new generation BYD Qin sedan debuted in Beijing. Now the four-door is called Qin L, and it will be sold in parallel with the Qin Plus, the second generation sedan. The Qin L will be equipped with a 1.5 V4 with 95 horsepower and a 163-horsepower electric motor. Depending on the modification, the battery will have a capacity of 10.08 or 15.874 kilowatt-hours, which will give 60/90 kilometers of travel on pure electricity.
