At the Beijing Auto Show, which kicked off today, FAW-owned luxury brand Hongqi showed off a new product – an open version of the EH7 electric sedan from the green division of Hongqi New Energy. This is not the first convertible of the “Red Banner” (as Hongqi is translated), which has in its arsenal [парадный L5](https://xn—-7sbbeeptbfadjdvm5ab9bqj.xn--p1ai/2019/07/04/hongqi/) in retro style, but probably the circulation of the “civilian” EH7 will be much larger.

Externally, the convertible is a copy of the Hongqi EH7 sedan, adjusted for an open top. It has a stub instead of a radiator grille at the front and 7-shaped optics, which have become the hallmark of the brand’s new design language. The car measures 4.98 meters in length, 1.92 meters in width, and 1.49 meters in height with a three-meter wheelbase.

The interior, decorated in gray and green tones and almost devoid of physical buttons, features the same curved cluster with two displays and an augmented reality head-up display. The media system runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip.

The EH7 is available in several versions with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The initial version is equipped with a single engine with a capacity of 344 horsepower, and the top version has two with 619 horsepower, allowing it to accelerate to “hundreds” in 3.5 seconds. By the way, the sedan needs 0.4 seconds more for such acceleration. The CATL battery capacity reaches 111 kilowatt-hours.

The cost of an EH7 with a roof varies from 229,800 to 309,800 yuan (approximately 3-4 million rubles). The convertible will likely be more expensive.
