As Rossiyskaya Gazeta found out, cars will enter our market in 2024. Both are part of Chery’s eQ electric range. The eQ1 model, also known as Little Ant, is a compact city car whose length does not even reach 3.5 meters. It should become the cheapest “battery” Chery model in Russia. The larger eQ7 plays the role of the flagship of the line.
Chery eQ1 is 3.2 meters long, 1.67 meters wide, and 1.55 meters high with a wheelbase of 2.15 meters. That is, it is noticeably inferior in length to the Smart ForFour, although the interior is also designed for four passengers.

The city car debuted in 2016 – and immediately as an electric car. It is driven by an electric motor with 41 or 75 horsepower. Chery offers three batteries to choose from: depending on the capacity, the range without recharging can be 251, 301 or 408 kilometers according to the Chinese CLTC cycle. At home, eQ1 costs from 65 to 94 thousand yuan, which is from 863 thousand to 1.25 million rubles at the current exchange rate.
As for the second new product, this is a full-fledged eQ7 crossover, which will debut in the spring of 2023. It is slightly longer and taller, but lower than the Toyota RAV4. Dimensions – 4.68 x 1.91 x 1.66 meters, wheelbase 2.83 meters. The eQ7 is equipped with a single electric motor producing 211 horsepower and a traction battery with a capacity of 67 kilowatt-hours. When fully charged, the crossover travels up to 512 kilometers on the same CLTC cycle.
The cost of eQ7 in China varies from 130 thousand to 170 thousand yuan or 1.72-2.25 million rubles.
At the beginning of next year, at least three hybrid Cherys will reach Russia. These are the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro e+ crossovers and the updated Tiggo 8 Pro e+, as well as the Arrizo 8 sedan. Despite the announcement for the Russian Federation, not all of them even managed to enter the home market, and therefore some of the characteristics are still unknown.
