Viktor Zornikov, director of technological development and industrialization at Sollers, confirmed to Motor that a hard-wired all-wheel drive will appear on Atlant vans and minivans in the medium term. With four driving wheels, it will be possible to order options with a single rear tire. The most “heavy” versions will remain with rear-wheel drive.

Sollers will not increase the ground clearance of all-wheel drive Atlants: the plant believes that the current 200 millimeters of ground clearance is enough. The presence of a reduction gear, coupled with a part-time system, is in question: Sollers promised to reveal all the details about all-wheel drive models closer to the start of sales.

The cars of the Sollers Atlant family will have one more option that is not available to the original JAC Sunray. The possibility of installing automatic transmission on vans, minibuses and trucks is being worked out. We are talking about a classic 6-speed gearbox with a torque converter from a Chinese partner. The marking of the automatic transmission is unknown, but Sollers made it clear that we are talking about the successor to the Japanese Aisin machine gun.

Sollers plans to increase its share in the Russian segment of light commercial vehicles up to 40 percent and produce up to 40,000 Atlants annually. Currently, about a thousand vans, trucks and minibuses leave the assembly line of the Yelabuga plant every month.
