In an interview with GQ, the two-time world champion admitted that he ordered an Aston Martin Valkyrie: a 1,000-horsepower hypercar designed by the brilliant Formula 1 car designer Adrian Newey. The Spanish driver, who now drives for the Aston Martin formula team, joked that he was counting on a corporate discount, but in the end he had to pay the full amount.

Fernando Alonso made it clear that he chose a dark green Aston Martin Valkyrie with lime-colored inserts, that is, his hypercar is decorated in the same style as the Formula 1 car. The Spaniard has no doubt that the car will attract a lot of attention, and it will not be possible to remain incognito. It is known that similar Valkyries are in the garages of the current champion Max Verstappen, former Red Bull driver David Coulthard and the boss of the Austrian team Christian Horner.

Production of the hypercar began two years ago, although the first prototype was presented back in 2016. Aston Martin engineers had to work hard to bring this uncompromising car with active aerodynamics, ground effect and naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 Cosworth into production. The characteristics are impressive even seven years later: the peak output of the hybrid power plant is 1176 horsepower, and the curb weight is only 1030 kilograms!

Whether Fernando Alonso will drive an Aston Martin Valkyrie is an open question. The two-time champion’s daily driver is the DBX707 super crossover. Earlier, the Spaniard got rid of another unique hypercar: the owner was replaced by a Ferrari Enzo with serial number 001, which Alonso had owned for 12 years.
