The Cougar brand, which translates as “Puma,” first became known back in October – then the Izvestia newspaper, citing an unnamed source in China, reported that a certain crossover could be sold in our market under this name. Now the Chinese Cars portal has found out details about another Chery brand under the laconic name Ti. It is tipped to be a production sports car based on the iCar GT concept car.

Let’s start with the Cougar. The first-born of this sub-brand will be a crossover, about which absolutely nothing is known. When asked by a journalist about the prospects of this model, an official representative of Chery replied that for now “the process of discussing the launch of the brand at the level of an idea is underway” and “it is difficult to say absolutely exactly what the model range will be in Russia.” “Chinese cars” suggest that under the Cougar brand they can launch a line of Amulet (Fengyun) hybrid cars on the Russian market.

The Ti sub-brand became known thanks to Chery’s patent declaration. According to preliminary data, this trademark is patented for a sports sedan, which will be built on the basis of the recent iCar GT show car. For now, the model appears in documents under the code name Ti 01.

The iCar GT was shown at the Shanghai Motor Show this spring. Then the Chinese media wrote that iCar is a sub-brand for a line of youth electric cars costing from 150 to 400 thousand yuan (1.9-5 million rubles). The GT name was given to a coupe with upward-opening doors, T-shaped lights, a steering wheel instead of a traditional steering wheel and a single tablet in the center of the front panel. The technical characteristics of the sports car are unknown.
