The Geely Galaxy E8 sedan did not pass the important “moose test” arranged by the Spaniards

The Chinese Geely Galaxy E8 sedan did not pass the “moose test” performed by Spanish journalists from km77. This test simulates sudden maneuvering on the road – like when encountering an animal. The car must change lanes into the adjacent lane and back at a speed of 77 km/h.

The Geely Galaxy E8 is equipped with rear-wheel drive and an electric motor producing 272 hp. Its battery has a capacity of 60.8 kWh. The test sample was equipped with 19-inch Goodyear tires. However, at a maximum speed of 76 km/h, the Chinese sedan was unable to stay within the marked corridor during a sharp maneuver. This is not the worst result, journalists note, but it is not ideal either.

However, the results cannot be considered completely objective. Unlike other km77 tests, this test was not carried out in Spain on a traditional track, but in China. Differences in road surface and other conditions may have affected the results. However, the “moose test” revealed insufficient maneuverability of the Geely Galaxy E8 at high speed. Perhaps wider tires and suspension tuning would help improve performance. In general, the Chinese sedan demonstrated good, but not ideal, handling in emergency situations. For a more objective assessment, it is advisable to conduct comparative tests on identical tracks. (photo: Geely)
