Italdesign presented a new concept at the Beijing Auto Show, called Quintessenza. The car was created as the perfect “embodiment of the relationship between man and nature” and is based on more than 50 years of Italdesign heritage.

The Quintessenza is a two-door car with a high seating position and a spacious interior for four people. A pair of slim LED headlights highlight the front fascia and are complemented by a small vertical LED in the center of the front fascia. The carbon fiber wheel arches that protrude from the rest of the body are eye-catching, as are the driving lights integrated into them.

Although the concept only has two doors, it is comparable in size to a large four-door sedan. Its length is 5561 mm, height – 1580 mm, and width – 2200 mm. It also has a long wheelbase of 3240mm, so it will be spacious inside.

The intriguing design features continue to the rear of the car. The rear roof can be removed and the second-row seats can be rotated 180 degrees. According to Italdesign, this will provide passengers with a connection with nature.

A human-centric approach also formed the basis of the concept’s interior design. It includes a floating marble-based fabric dashboard that houses the air conditioning and infotainment controls.

Italdesign says it is based on a lightweight aluminum structure. The Quintessenza is equipped with a massive 150 kWh battery pack with an 800 V electrical architecture. A large electric motor on the front axle and two electric motors on the rear axle produce a combined 778 hp. (580 kW), allowing the concept to accelerate to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds. The developers also promise a range of 750 km.
