In China, the Refine RF8 debuted at the Chengdu Auto Show: a large premium MPV. The novelty has become the firstborn of the MUSE (MPV Union Smart Electric) modular platform, which allows the production of petrol versions, plug-in hybrids, and even electric cars. So far, only a conventional minivan and a PHEV hybrid with a power plant that matches the Geely DHT system has been shown.
The JAC Refine RF8 minivans are identical in terms of technology: McPherson struts in front, multi-link rear suspension, the internal combustion engine is located transversely, the drive is on the front axle. The regular version has a 2.0-liter turbo four (252 hp, 400 Nm) under the hood, power is transmitted through an 8-speed automatic. The hybrid has a three-engine bundle of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and two electric motors in front.

The origin of the hybrid system is not specified, but JAC seems to have reached an agreement with Geely. Under the floor of a rechargeable hybrid, a battery with a capacity of 44.6 kilowatt-hours, the peak output of the system is 421 horsepower and 745 Nm of torque, the power reserve without activating the internal combustion engine is up to 200 kilometers, and in mixed mode – up to 1200 kilometers. Outwardly and in the cabin, minivans with different fillings differ: the radiator grille, front panel and infotainment complex are decorated differently.

So far, only richly equipped versions with a six-seat three-row saloon, separate electrically adjustable seats, heating and ventilation are shown. In any case, the driver will have a virtual dashboard, a media system with a large touchscreen, wireless charging for gadgets, and the minivan will feature expensive finishing materials, interesting color combinations and a textured transmission selector.
In China, JAC Refine RF8 sales will begin in December, and in 2024 the model may enter export markets. Under what brand the novelty may appear in Russia is an open question, because KamAZ, Moskvich, Sollers and AvtoVAZ cooperate in one way or another with a Chinese company.
