Defender L663, introduced four years ago, has been refreshed. Externally, the SUV has remained almost unchanged, but has received new options “for luxury travel,” an optimized set of additional equipment packages and a special Sedona Red version. The engine was not spared either: the Defender received a new D350 engine – the most powerful diesel engine in its history.

The updated Land Rover Defender received an upgraded D350 diesel engine. It develops 345 horsepower, which is 49 more than the D300. Torque increased by 50 Nm, to 700 Nm. In addition to recoil, engineers have increased response speed. Other variants, including the flagship V8, remain unchanged.

Other innovations relate to the level of comfort: the Signature Interior Pack, standard on Defender X and V8, is available in a number of trim levels. It adds 14-way power front seats, heating, ventilation and memory functions, and winged headrest support. The package has been supplemented with more pleasant-to-touch finishing materials and pockets for storing small items.

For the “long” Defender 130, the Captain’s Chairs package is available with second-row captain’s chairs with thin armrests and a fairly large distance between them, making it easier for passengers to get to the third row.

By the way, among the revised packages there is also a Cold Climate Pack with various heating and a version for very cold climates, a towing kit, sets with various assistants and air suspension. And the Convenience Pack will add adjustable interior lights, a Meridian audio system, a refrigerator and a soft-closing fifth door.

Another new product is the special version 110 Sedona Edition, named after the city of Sedona in Arizona. It features a Sedona Red exterior inspired by the local topography, dark trim, optional trunk space, and 22-inch Gloss Black wheels. There is a decal on the hood depicting Sedona’s topography. This option will only be sold for one year.

Meanwhile, Land Rover is preparing to unveil its most powerful and fastest Defender yet. The SUV with the Octa prefix will receive 6D Dynamics adaptive air suspension and BMW twin-turbo eight with a 48-volt add-on. The Defender Octa will debut before the end of this year.
