The Autohome portal has found out: the presentation of the Kruzak from the FAW-Toyota joint venture will take place on November 17 in Guangzhou. It is expected that the basic version of the SUV will cost 362,800 yuan (equivalent to 50 thousand dollars). For the same price (363,000 yuan), a richly equipped seven-seat Tank 500 is sold in China. In Russia, the top-end “five hundredth” costs 6.9 million rubles.

The characteristics of the Chinese Land Cruiser Prado are no secret, because the FAW-Toyota booklet was leaked to the Internet a month ago. No differences are expected from the “global” version, except that you won’t have to choose a power plant: in China only a hybrid SUV with the iForce Max system will be offered.

This means that the Chinese version will develop 330 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque. Under the hood will be a 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbo engine in tandem with an 8-speed automatic transmission with a built-in electric motor. For the SUV, ground clearance is confirmed to be 221 millimeters, approach/departure/ramp angles are equal to 31/22/22 degrees, respectively.

There is no doubt that Land Cruiser Prado will appear in Russia over time for different markets, but the Chinese version can be advantageous in price thanks to well-functioning logistics. In absolute terms, the SUV will probably be cheaper in Japan: in this country, the basic Land Cruiser Prado of the outgoing generation costs 3,676,000 yen ($24.5 thousand).
