Recall announced for Cadillac Lyriq due to problems with the BCM system

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq assembled this year is subject to a recall campaign. The problem lies with the safety system, namely the body control module (BCM). According to a report provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), several vehicles have a software issue that has caused some options to not work properly.

Reportedly, there are models that do not activate a signal that warns pedestrians that a vehicle is approaching. Let us remind you that it turns on when the speed decreases from 30 to 25 km/h. Due to the lack of a sound signal, pedestrians cannot always immediately notice the car, which directly affects their safety. The reason was an incorrect software update.

This defect was recorded in 62 Cadillac Lyriq cars assembled between August 23 and September 8 of this year. Dealers have already been notified of this malfunction, and on November 27, car owners will become aware of this. This can be corrected by updating the BCM. All these corrections will be carried out at the company’s expense (photo: Cadillac).
