Experts from Russian Standard Bank came to this conclusion. Their latest study showed that in the third quarter among Russians there was a noticeable decrease in interest in traveling by taxi, but at the same time, citizens did not travel less, they simply began to choose a different type of transport.

Bank specialists analyzed the categories of customer spending for the period from July to September of this year. As a result, the most popular mode of transport turned out to be the bus. Also in the top five most popular were personal cars, trains, airplanes and taxis.

Payments for bus trips accounted for 44 percent of all expenses, and the average bill for a trip was 119 rubles. But taxis accounted for only 17 percent of total transport costs.

At the end of September it became known that Russian taxi drivers wanted to limit their parking time in residential areas. Deputies came up with a proposal to prohibit taxi cars from staying in the courtyard for more than half an hour.
