These are the names registered by the new owner of the former Michelin plant in Davydovo near Moscow. The company was sold to the Russian distributor Power International Tires in the spring of this year. This company also imports tires from the Chinese company Hifly into the country and last year its revenue exceeded 31 billion rubles.

The application for registration of new trademarks Selna and Farlight and their graphic logos, filed by Power International Tires, drew attention to the telegram channel Autopotok. The author of the channel writes that tires produced by the Davydov plant will be sold under these names.

The plant in Davydovo, which has been operating since 2004 and is designed to produce up to two million tires per year (summer and winter, mainly for passenger cars), suspended operations last spring. After this, it became known that Michelin “is forced to plan the transfer of all its activities in Russia to local management.” Michelin’s losses from the suspension of operations in Russia amounted to about 200 million euros.

It was previously reported that the former plant of another tire manufacturer, Nokian, chose a new name for its products – Ikon. The former Continental AG plant in Kaluga also switched to the new brand – Quto.ru wrote that the name Torero was chosen for it.
