Drivers from Vladivostok, Tyumen, as well as Novosibirsk and Kaluga complained about the problem en masse. Local motorists began to receive fines for unpaid parking. Over the past month, several hundred people have received unsubstantiated chain letters. At the same time, residents reported that they tried to pay for parking, but the parking meter system kept crashing.

In Vladivostok, parking meters were installed about a year ago. For each of the 37 devices that were brought from France, local authorities paid one and a half million rubles. Now all the complexes have turned out to be useless, since parking meters have stopped accepting payments due to a software failure. In Tyumen and Kaluga the situation is similar. At the same time, parking meters in these cities have been operating uninterruptedly since 2016.

Motorists are offered to use other payment methods. For example, you can pay for parking using a mobile application. However, due to the heavy load on the network, not all drivers can use the service.

At the same time, the Russian authorities do not despair and plan to equip foreign parking meters with domestic software. Stationary complexes produced by Russian companies have already appeared in St. Petersburg and Perm.

In mid-July, the capital’s authorities decided to dismantle all city parking meters. Experts have come to the conclusion that drivers practically do not use stationary devices.
