Alexander Ponomarenko, known under the nickname Benderlog Design, posted on his Telegram channel computer images of an unusual SUV, created on the basis of the GAZ-66 truck. He turned an army four-wheel drive truck into a lowered pickup truck with an aggressive design and hood layout. The project was called Custom Pickup.

The cabin from the GAZ-66 is recognizable by its characteristic glazing. The radiator grille and bumper with a winch look familiar. The sides of the body are now a continuation of the sides of the cabin. Headlights with blackout caps and miniature taillights only add to the Soviet style.

Through the hole in the hood you can see part of the V8 engine. Let us remind you that the original truck was equipped with an 8-cylinder ZMZ engine with a volume of 4.3 and 4.7 liters. However, its power did not exceed 130 hp, so it is unlikely that the creator of the project planned to leave this particular engine on the customized model.

Alexander Ponomarenko clarified that the renderings were made back in 2012.
