Bentley is gradually abandoning the iconic gasoline engines – the 6.0-liter W12 is already available only in custom sports cars from Mulliner, and now the 4.0-liter V8 is becoming history. In 2024, markets in the UK, Europe and the Middle East will lose the Continental GT coupe, Continental GTC convertible and Flying Spur sedan with an 8-cylinder engine. The Bentayga crossover will retain this unit for now and will remain the brand’s only model with a V8.

Since the introduction of the 4.0-litre V8 engine in 2012, more than 53,000 V8-powered Continental GTs, GTCs and Flying Spurs have been built, each built entirely by hand at Bentley’s Crewe plant in the UK. The latest V8-powered Continental GT, GTC and Flying Spur models are available to order now in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Acceptance of orders will end soon, and delivery of the machines will take place no later than June.

New Bentleys will be equipped with a 750-horsepower hybrid system

From now on, sales of V8 cars will be limited to those available in dealer warehouses. Well, or customers may be looking for options to bring a new car from another market, since the end of production of V8 models for other regions will take place later. For example, a farewell version of Edition 8 has already been announced for North America for the Continental GT, Continental GTC and Flying Spur – the cars will receive a special design developed by Mulliner specialists.

The cars will feature Blackline exterior trim, 22-inch wheels in two designs, Comfort seats, Bentley’s famous rotating display on the center console and contrast stitching on the upholstery. Customers will be able to choose their preferred exterior color from more than 60 shades of Mulliner’s expanded paint range, and will feature an exclusive Palm Fluting seat design, which has not previously been offered on a Bentley car.
