The Chinese Cars portal shared photos of crossovers that were shown near Chery headquarters. The world premiere turned out to be modest: both Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 4 were demonstrated to the press, keeping silent about the details. The design of the crossovers will be changed again, and the “seven” will receive a different interior in the style of the Exeed RX. Chery will officially bring both new products to Russia, but the timing has not been specified.
Why does Chery need such a complex hybrid?
The updated Chery Tiggo 7 will definitely be a hybrid: the petrol-electric power plant is indicated by a green plate and a “solid” radiator grille. The body frame and stamped parts (except for the trunk lid) remained unchanged, but the bumpers, rear lighting, wheels and color palette changed. The interior is also different: it is cut according to the patterns of the Exeed RX and the “older” Tiggo 8 Pro, but the transmission selector has been changed, and a small screen has appeared above the steering wheel pad.

The updated Chery Tiggo 4 has mainly changed on the outside: the interior is similar to the current one, but the exterior is completely different. Thanks to the new lighting technology, the “junior” crossover has become more solid, and from the rear the perception has changed radically. There is no confirmed information about the technology, but we can expect that Chery will do without revolutions in the engine range. This means that Tiggo 4 will retain budget versions with a manual and naturally aspirated engine, while Tiggo 7 will be offered with both a CVT and a robot in conjunction with turbo engines. However, the Russian and Chinese scales may not coincide.
Chery will bring the hybrid Tiggo 9 to Russia
In our country, Tiggo 4 and Tiggo 7 were updated relatively recently: the “junior” crossover underwent a local upgrade, and the “senior” acquired other configurations so as not to compete with its analogue from the XCite brand. Probably, the next round of updates in Russia will take place in 2025, and the Chinese source codes will undergo restyling within six months.
