The EM90 will debut next month and will come standard with an air purification system and a premium Bowers & Wilkins audio system. At the same time, it will remain structurally and technically close to the Zeekr 009, so all the electronics and security systems will most likely be the same.

On November 12, Volvo will show its first minivan, the EM90. And although it will share the platform and powertrain with the Zeekr 009, the Swedes decided to trace its pedigree to the Volvo Duett of the 50s. Photos of the EM90 are already in the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Trade, plus Volvo has published several uninformative teasers. Well, now the company has decided to reveal some details of the equipment, paying attention to its priority area – security.

Thus, the EM90 body will be made of high-strength steels of various grades, including boron-containing steel, which resists mechanical loads well and is resistant to cracking. Double front struts will add a little rigidity to the frame. The minivan is promised a scattering of electronic assistants with a bunch of all kinds of sensors, side curtains 2.7 meters long on each side and a special protective frame for the traction battery made of steel and aluminum.

Standard on the EM90 are an air purification system with a fine particle filter and a 21-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system. In terms of comfort, it promises to be something between an ordinary car and a room furnished in Scandinavian style. Here you can spend time with family and friends, relax after a hard day, engage in creativity or work. A sort of “third space” concept, which even Lancia has adopted today.
