From this collection, as usual, you will learn the five main automotive news. BMW has updated the M2: the coupe has become more powerful and flexible

BMW has updated the M2: the coupe has become more powerful and flexible. The premiere of the second-generation model took place 20 months ago, so it’s too early for restyling, but there are still enough improvements. The main innovation is the engine, boosted by 20 horsepower (up to 480 horsepower). The twin-turbo six develops 550 Nm on versions with manual transmission, and the version with an 8-speed automatic produces up to 600 Nm. The 0-100 acceleration time has been reduced by 0.1 seconds. The US price increased by $1,880.

Aspark SP600 became the fastest electric car in the world

The Japanese hypercar has set a new speed record for electric vehicles. A video of the record-breaking Aspark SP600 at the training ground in Papenburg, Germany was published by the Italian company Manifattura Automobili Torino. It is reported that the hypercar was able to reach a speed of 438.7 kilometers per hour, while the previous record set by Rimac Nevera in 2022 on the same track was 412 kilometers per hour. The Aspark SP600 was piloted by former FIA GT1 world champion and 2012 Nürburgring 24 Hours winner Marc Basseng.

The new MINI Cooper received a five-door version

The new generation MINI Cooper hatchback received a five-door version. In February 2024, the new MINI Cooper, which in the current generation first debuted only as an electric car, also had a familiar fuel version. This hatchback is built on the platform of its predecessor, although it has a modern design in the spirit of the current “electric train”. Almost six months later, a modification with a more practical five-door body was added to the three-door version with an internal combustion engine, which, in fact, differs only in this – and a few other minor details.

Alpine A290 electric hot hatch unveiled

Alpine has unveiled the hot electric hatchback A290. It will be available in two power options – 180 or 220 horsepower, will receive a recalibrated suspension from Renault 5, a more aggressive appearance and a modernized interior with a push-button transmission selector on the center console. The model will be equipped with 26 electronic safety systems, Brembo brakes and, for the first time in the history of the brand, a 615-watt Devialet audio system with spatial sound function.

Serial Smart #5 declassified: what is known about it

Live photos of the largest Smart crossover have appeared. The company, which previously produced small city cars ForTwo and ForFour, recently changed direction: it produces B-class electric cars, and at the Beijing Auto Show in April it announced the appearance of a large “off-road” crossover #5 with a brutal design. Now pictures of the production version of the model have been published, and it turned out to be much less “off-road” than the show car presented in Beijing.
