The management of the capital’s plant is considering the possibility of producing such machines, writes TASS with reference to Moskvich production director Oleg Maslyakov. According to him, the trend for “pure” electric cars has already begun to decline, and therefore engineers are thinking about options for cars with other power plants, including “long-range” gas-electric ones.

Now the plant is considering the REV option – a hybrid with an increased power reserve. According to Maslyakov, it will be able to travel up to two thousand kilometers using fuel and electricity.

The capital’s enterprise may show such a gas-electric Moskvich in the next three years, as follows from the presentation. By 2027, it is planned to introduce a certain new M2 model and an M5 hybrid car, as well as update the existing model range.

Now the line of the resurrected brand includes the Moskvich 3 crossover, its electric version Moskvich 3e and the Moskvich 6 liftback.

Next year they will be joined by Moskvich 8 and Moskvich 5. According to the latest data, the JAC X7 and JAC Sehol X6 will be used as a basis, respectively, so the M5 index probably means a different car. As for the M2, there are already plans for a Moskvich 2: perhaps it will be a redesigned JAC JS3, which recently debuted in Russia under a Chinese nameplate.
