Externally, the ZDX will resemble last year’s Precision EV concept.

Acura ZDX electric crossover and its charged version ZDX Type S will celebrate the market debut in early 2024. Well, the world premiere of the first “Acura” on batteries will take place in two weeks as part of Monterey Car Week. The starting point for the California studio Acura Design, which was responsible for the appearance of the original ZDX (2009-2013), was the Precision EV concept. Therefore, the ZDX will get an illuminated Diamond Pentagon grille, Chicane DRL running lights and something else.

For example, the crossover will be the first brand model with native support for Google services: Google Assistant, Google Maps and others. When plotting a route, the electric car’s navigation will take into account the location of charging stations, and will also preemptively warm up the battery for fast DC charging. Another innovation is the Bang & Olufsen audio system instead of the usual Panasonic ELS. Moreover, it will not remain exclusive to the ZDX, but will eventually appear on all models.

The new ZDX will be based on a General Motors “trolley” with an Ultium battery. But the following electric cars Acura will transfer to its own e: Architecture platform. Specifications have not yet been announced. At the same time, the ZDX Type S is declared as the most powerful and fastest crossover in the history of the brand. Now this title is held by the MDX Type S, equipped with a V6 3.0 turbo engine delivering 360 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque. From standstill to 60 mph (97 km/h), the car accelerates in about 6 seconds.
