It rolled off the assembly line of the Ingolstadt brand’s plant in Győr, Hungary, writes Motor1. Thus, production of the Tourist Trophy is completed after almost 26 years, during which Audi produced a total of 662,762 of these vehicles. The final product was the TTS sports coupe with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 310 horsepower and Quattro all-wheel drive.

The Audi TT debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1995. Production began with a coupe, the first copy of which was released in February 1998. The following year the first roadster was assembled. More than a quarter of a century has passed since then, and the Tourist Trophy has remained in service, despite the craze for crossovers.

Now the sports car is going into retirement without a successor. However, Audi does not rule out that the TT may someday return in the form of an electric car, but no decision has been made yet. The model also had an SUV incarnation, but it was only a concept shown in 2014.

Before saying goodbye to the TT, Audi released several final versions for different markets – the UK, Japan, Spain and North America. The latter country received the TT Roadster Final Edition in a heritage green hue with a soft gray roof and a modest production run of 50 units.
