For fans of compact and inexpensive sports cars, the MX-5 is traditionally one of the icons, but the disadvantage of the model is its engine – although the iconic Mazda roadster is designed for fast driving on winding roads, the sports car absolutely lacks power for assertive driving. This can be corrected in a variety of ways, and bloggers from the popular Carwow channel decided to find out which of them would ultimately be more effective.

The third generation of the NC roadster is equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 160 horsepower and 188 Nm, and the model weighs 1,100 kilograms. And this is a kind of starting point for the race participants.

With exactly the same weight, a car with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine already has 239 horsepower and 285 Nm, which makes the model one of the favorites in the race. Even against the background of more powerful rivals.

The two roadsters with the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine weigh exactly the same 1,100 kilograms, but their output is higher. The version with a turbine develops 262 horsepower and 306 Nm, and the version with a compressor develops 248 horsepower and 289 Nm. The more interesting is who will emerge victorious from the race!
