The limited-edition Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale supercar will be the brand’s last new car with an internal combustion engine, with all future releases to be exclusively electric. But not all wealthy brand customers share this decision of the Italian company, as evidenced by their choice. The vast majority of buyers of new items preferred a gasoline turbo engine, rather than three electric motors.

Alfa Romeo Senior Vice President Larry Dominick stressed that all 33 cars were sold out long before the official debut. Each buyer has a choice – to equip his supercar with a 620-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 petrol turbo engine or a three-engine 750-horsepower electric power plant.

Few people are interested in modern technologies. “We wanted to offer two types of powertrains in the 33 Stradale project to demonstrate that we can build an Alfa Romeo with any type of engine,” Dominic said.

“We will be able to transfer the DNA of Alfa Romeo, the experience of Alfa Romeo, regardless of the type of powertrain. As long as the car remains an Alfa Romeo in the first place, the engine is in a sense secondary. But yes, we have ordered only a few 33 Stradale electric vehicles,” said the top manager. The production of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is scheduled for June 24, 2024, the year of Alfa Romeo’s 114th anniversary, so buyers of the exclusive supercar still have the opportunity to change their mind and choose a different type of power plant.
