In 2024, three Cadillac V-Series.R racing hypercars from the Cadillac Racing factory team will take part in the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France. YouTube channel Hagerty got their hands on one of these cars and gave it a rather unusual test, pitting it against the road-going Ferrari 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano, the new McLaren 750S and the current generation Porsche 911 Turbo S in a straight line race.

A racing Cadillac weighs about 1030 kilograms, which accounts for from 645 to 700 forces, depending on the regulations of the series in which the hypercar participates. The V-Series.R has a 5.5-liter hybrid V8 coupled to a 7-speed sequential gearbox and rear-wheel drive, but there is also front-wheel drive, but it is engaged only at high speed, which is of particular advantage in short-term straight racing does not give.

The Ferrari hybrid coupe is equipped with a petrol-electric unit based on a 3.0-liter V6, the total power of which reaches 830 horsepower, which is transmitted to the road through the rear wheels and an 8-speed robotic gearbox. The 296 GTB weighs about 1600 kilograms.

The updated 750S still has the same 4.0-liter turbo V8 engine, 7-speed automatic transmission and the same rear-wheel drive as the McLaren 720S, but the engine now develops 750 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, and the supercar weighs 1,430 kilograms. As for Porsche, with a mass of 1655 kilograms, the 911 Turbo S has a 3.8-liter flat-6 turbo engine with 650 horsepower, coupled with a 7-speed robotic gearbox and all-wheel drive.
