Renat Tyukteev, director of sales of new cars at Avilon, spoke about this in a conversation with Rossiyskaya Gazeta. He said that if there is now a targeted reduction in prices for certain models, it is on the initiative of the sellers themselves, who are ready to offer customers a discount. However, in the market as a whole, there is an increase in the cost of parallel-imported cars, and this will continue.

“Prices for new cars in general are not decreasing; there is no such trend in the market. On the contrary, we can expect that parallel imports will continue to rise in price,” the newspaper quotes Tyukteev. Currently, parallel imports are hampered by restrictions introduced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in October, as well as logistics problems, namely the high congestion of railways and seaports.

According to Autostat, there are fewer and fewer cars imported into Russia via parallel routes. This is due to the fact that the domestic automobile market has managed to recover over the past year and a half, and most dealers have changed their direction from “gray” European models to official cars from China. Thus, two large dealer holdings have already stopped transporting cars through parallel imports – Avtodom and AvtoSpetsTsentr.

In addition, owners of European cars are faced with blockages – this is how security systems react to uncertified diagnostic equipment. They contact the manufacturer’s servers and mistake the “garage” intervention for an attempted theft. In this case, unlocking from an official dealer may take several hours.

They will replace Mercedes-Maybach and Toyota Land Cruiser for Russians
