The press service of the subsidiary brand Avatr shared photos of the new product with the index “07”. We are talking about a mid-size crossover, which will become the most affordable and compact model in the line. Avatr 07 will be offered as a “pure” electric vehicle or a series hybrid, that is, the main competitors can be considered the Tesla Model Y and LiXiang L6. Expected prices are from 250 to 300 thousand yuan (35-48 thousand dollars).

Initially, Avatr 07 was supposed to be called Avatr 15, but for unknown reasons the index changed before the premiere. Externally, the new product is similar to the Avatr 11 familiar to Russians, but there are important differences. If the “eleventh” belongs to the cross-coupe class, then the “seven” is a traditional crossover. Another characteristic detail is the door handles above the window sill line. Finally, the Avatr 07’s lights are not connected by an LED strip.

However, despite the visual similarity between the crossovers, there are no common details. The Avatr 07 is five and a half centimeters shorter, a centimeter wider and two centimeters taller than the Avatr 11. The interior has not been officially shown, but judging by the spy shots, the five-seat cabin is almost the same as the Avatr 12 liftback. Interestingly, the premiere has begun with a hybrid version with two hatches, although there are no details about the petrol engine.

As before, Avatr develops cars together with Changan, Huawei and CATL. The parties’ contribution to the new model will be revealed later, and the start of sales in China is planned for the third quarter of 2024. In Russia, new Avatr products may well appear officially, in which case Changan will have to compete with Wey hybrids from the Great Wall concern and unofficial supplies from LiXiang.
