The Chinese brand shared a photo of the Fengyun A9 four-door on social networks. Under the name Fengyun, the redesigned Seat Toledo entered the domestic market in the late 1990s, and in other countries (including Russia) the model was called Amulet. By the mid-2010s, the Chery Fengyun (Amulet) family was abandoned; now the reincarnation is ready – again in the sedan form factor, but this time it’s a hybrid and not at all budget-friendly.

Chery Amulet is one of the first “Chinese” to register in Russia: until 2012, the model was assembled in Kaliningrad and Taganrog. The budget sedan is remembered for its low quality workmanship and poor passive safety. However, the new Amulet A9 is completely different: the index hints that the model will become the flagship of Chery sedans.

There is little official information: it is obvious that the production Amulet A9 is inspired by the Arrizo Star concept car from April. At that time, the model was claimed to have an autonomy of 1,500 kilometers and fuel consumption of 3.8 liters per 100 kilometers. The sedan is driven by a C-DM power unit based on a 1.5-liter Acteco turbo-four operating on the Miller cycle.

It’s not said directly, but it looks like Chery intends to challenge the Voyah Passion hybrid: the newest “Amulet” should have similar dimensions and similar technology. The modern filling will be expensive: the new Chery product will hardly cost less than 200 thousand yuan.
