Jaguar is working on a flagship model, a large electric luxury sedan based on the latest JEA (Jaguar Electrified Architecture) platform. According to the British Autocar, the novelty will not only not be similar to the current models of the brand, but will even lose a decent emblem with a jaguar – it will be replaced by the Jaguar inscription.

In the lineup, the new model will replace the XJ, which was discontinued in 2019. However, if the XJ competed with the premium models of the “German trio” – BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz – then the novelty will perform in a higher luxury class and will compete with the Bentley Flying Spur and Cadillac Celestiq. The Autocar publication publishes unofficial renderings of the future model: it is distinguished from the current Jaguar cars by a laconic exterior design and the absence of “cat” nameplates.

The electric sedan shown in the renders has a long hood, a smooth body without unnecessary stampings, cameras instead of exterior mirrors, and a plug in place of the radiator grille, albeit with slots. The stern, as expected, will be made in the manner of the Polestar 5 – without a rear window.

There is also an unofficial image of the interior: the central place on the front panel is occupied by a clock screen, and below is a tablet, which, apparently, controls the main functions of the car, since there are no physical buttons. In addition, the artist depicted an unusual steering wheel on two double spokes.

As part of the Jaguar brand reboot that began back in 2021, LRJ will be revisiting its lineup, such as dropping the entry-level electric crossover I-Pace. In the future, the automaker will focus on the production of luxury cars in the luxury segment and will sell about four thousand cars a month. And one of the priority markets for Jaguar will be China.
