The Bring & Trailer auction has ended in the United States, and a substantial sum was obtained for the 1995 veteran. A diesel Mercedes-Benz E 300 with a mileage of 8.4 thousand miles (13.5 thousand kilometers) went for 101 thousand dollars! The new E-Class in the W214 body, even with a 3.0-liter gasoline engine and the maximum range of options, will be cheaper in the USA (from 68 thousand dollars).

The youngest is forty: the history of the Mercedes-Benz 190

In North America, diesel versions are rare in their own right, but this particular sedan is in excellent condition. The report contains no information about accidents, but the auctioneers provided photographs of the car from all angles (including from below), attached a thickness gauge and carried out diagnostics. The meager mileage is confirmed by the condition of the interior and exterior, as well as the production of original Pirelli tires.

Since we are talking about the E 300 diesel version, under the hood is a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter OM 606 engine (136 hp, 210 Nm), power is transmitted to the rear axle through a 4-speed automatic. The equipment is rich: there are headlight wipers, fog lights, an electric antenna, a sunroof, a stereo system with a cassette head unit, cruise control and electric windows.

Diesel Mercedes W124 was auctioned for more than the new AMG E 63

The amount of 101 thousand dollars for a Mercedes-Benz Youngtimer is high, but not a record. A year ago, a similar diesel “one hundred twenty-four” was sold in the USA for 152.6 thousand dollars, although the mileage of the white four-door was even higher, and the equipment was a little simpler.
