According to the RIA Novosti news agency, a corresponding bill was submitted to the State Duma for consideration. The authors of the initiative believe that tinted front car windows regularly cause disputes between motorists and law enforcement agencies. At the same time, tinted windows have a positive effect on traffic safety.
In the explanatory note to the bill, deputies stated that tinting the front windows is one of the most common reasons for stopping a car by traffic police officers. At the same time, this violation periodically becomes “fertile ground for abuse” by inspectors.
In Russia, the cost of preparing a car for the summer season has risen by a third. Drivers are allowed not to remove tinting on the spot at the request of an inspector. More than 90,000 Moscow drivers have been fined for incorrect tinting.
At the same time, tinted windows protect the driver from direct sunlight, which can adversely affect vision. In addition, the film helps to reduce the interior heating temperature and also reduces fuel consumption, since the air conditioner in the car runs less often.
In April last year, Russian drivers were allowed not to remove the tint when they stopped their car. Motorists have 24 hours to remove the film.
