A seat belt is an indispensable element in every modern car. Buckling it up is not just a rule, but a very important habit, especially since an airbag can do more harm than good if a person is not buckled up. However, there is another aspect of belts that is important – color.

Since talking and persuasion about the importance of wearing seat belts did not have a significant impact, the path to awareness was shortened by introducing fines. To ensure that this fine had the desired effect, traffic cameras were equipped with the ability to monitor seat belt use. The All-Seeing Eye will now monitor not only drivers, but also passengers in the front seats and identify those who are not wearing seat belts.

Of course, there were difficulties along the way. It was discovered that the camera operator, while closely observing the “chaos” inside the vehicles, could have made mistakes. Being only human, especially in low light conditions or when the driver is wearing dark clothing, the operator may not notice that the seat belt is fastened. While appealing a ticket is an option, it is far better to not receive a ticket at all.

To solve this problem, many car owners have come up with a simple but effective idea – to make their seat belts more visible by giving them a bright, noticeable color. In general, to avoid fines, you need to choose belts that will stand out on any clothing, not just light-colored ones. Ideally, you should cover the belt with reflective material.
