A tuned GAZ-31029 Volga with parts from Mercedes was shown in Dagestan

Car tuning in Dagestan has long been associated with extravagant and dubious projects. However, among the abundance of understated “swallows” there are also truly worthy works of local craftsmen. A striking example of the latter is the black Volga GAZ-31029 with laconic external modifications, a luxurious interior and a powerful Japanese engine.

The appearance of the car is distinguished by modesty and sophistication. The only thing that catches your eye is the new large rear-view mirrors, matching the body color. Another accent is the impeccable designer two-layer coating of a deep black shade with a glossy sheen. A set of 18-inch BBS alloy wheels with low profile tires complete the picture.

Under the long hood, instead of the serial ZMZ, there is the legendary Japanese six-cylinder turbocharged 2JZ-GTE (3-liter volume). This is the optimal choice of engine for the Volga – a unique combination of reliability, power and torque. The engine is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission from Toyota, providing smooth and precise gear changes.

The highlight of the project is the spacious interior, made in classic black with an abundance of hand-made genuine leather of the highest quality. The dashboard, steering wheel and door trim are from late GAZ-31105 models. An unusual touch to the interior is given by comfortable electric seats from Mercedes in combination with a “native” spacious sofa. Almost all upholstery details are decorated with diamond-shaped perforations.

The car’s suspension has also undergone a major upgrade. The rear spring structure has been replaced with a modern spring independent suspension from Toyota Camry. This significantly improved handling and ride quality. A specially developed exhaust system completes the picture. (photo: bestautorus.ru)
